Tiny Wedding, Big Emotions

Love in the time of Covid

–with all apologies to both Marquez and Dr. Suess

It hadn’t stopped this wedding from coming! IT CAME!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!
And Covid, his virus still spreading all cross the land,
Stood puzzling and puzzling, “How could these two stand?”
“It came without guests! It came without bands!”
“It came without flowers, big dresses or dads!”
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then Covid thought of something he hadn’t before!
“Maybe weddings,” he thought, “don’t come from a store.”
“Maybe weddings…perhaps…mean a little bit more.”

Ray and Kelly had a big celebration planned, a welcoming bash to celebrate their love, their families, and their friends in a way everyone knew would be wonderfully unique. When Covid-19 came along, they did the responsible thing and postponed the big bash, but after almost four years together, they didn’t want this virus to force them to wait any longer.

So yesterday, Ray, Kelly, Father Andy, two legally-required witnesses/friends and us came together at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church for the most charming wedding ceremony we’ve photographed in many years. It had the most important things a wedding needs: Two people, deeply in love, ready to commit their lives to each other. And, cupcakes from Craig’s Bakeshop

Congratulations, Ray and Kelly! We can’t wait for next year’s full on party so you can share this beautiful relationship with everyone important to you.
